Rob Marshall

Basic Biog

Born in Hull in 1960.

University of Sheffield BA (Biblical Studies) followed by an MA on the Transfiguration at the University of Durham.

Currently doing some research via the University of Sheffield on genre of story.

Has served as a priest in Kirkstall (Leeds), Otley (Bradford, (Embsay with Eastby) and then St Augustine’s, Queen’s Gate (London). Currently on the staff at St Mary Abbots, Kensington (London)

Rob was Communications Officer for the Diocese of Bradford before becoming the first Director of Communications for the Church of England Diocese of London. He was then Media Adviser to the Archbishop of York before becoming Director of Marketing at St Mary’s University College.

He set up Media 33 in 1995. See Company Info for current clients.

Rob is a writer and broadcaster and has written for the Church of England Newspaper and Church Times. He was a freelance football commentator on BBC Radio and TV in the 1980’s. He now presents Thought for the Day on BBC Radio 4 and Pause for Thought on BBC Radio 2. He has written 5 books.

Rob loves travel and particularly enjoys leading pilgrimages.

His real joy is a small farm cottage in Normandy where he can really relax!
